Alternative Transportation Plan
In the event that one of our bus drivers is absent, the following options will be available:
Morning Bus Routes
The two drivers who are present will run their routes with their normal pickups and arrival time at school. Upon arrival one of the drivers will then run the absent driver’s route and pick up those students. Those students will arrive at school approximately one (1) hour late and will be excused. Students on the absent driver’s route will be picked up approximately one (1) hour later than usual on alternative transport days.
Afternoon Routes
Students on the absent driver’s route will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m. They will be transported home by the driver who is filling in for the absent driver. That driver will return to school at the regular dismissal time and run their route. The students on the absent driver’s route will arrive at home approximately one (1) hour earlier than the usual drop off time.
Parents always have the option of choosing to transport their students themselves if for any reason this plan is not workable for them. Also, if the plan will not work for your family please notify the school that your student will not be riding the bus. If and when the District is able to locate and hire substitute bus drivers on an on-call basis, this plan will be modified or replaced.
